First training course in the HotBio network completed!

The first tailor-made training course for the HotBio students was arranged at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland, in November 2023. This was also the first opportunity of the students to meet and to get to now each other

The course was the first of two short courses in Transferrable Skills Training (SCT1), and the theme was “Career Planning and Communication”. The students were introduced to and discussed subject such as collaborative science, transparency and openness in research dissemination, public engagement and data management. We also had a session dedicated to career plans, and all students started the work on creating their own career plans.

Our host, Dr. Patrycja Golinska, also gave us a tour of the campus and their lab facilities related to microbiology. We had some very nice days together in Torun, and we are very grateful for the hospitality shown to us by Patrycja during our stay there.
